Based in San Francisco and Boston, The Douglas Fir have a flair for the cinematic. The band's moody-pop songs have garnered praise in Magnet Magazine, Village Voice, The Boston Globe, The Big Takeover, and the band has shared the stage with Metric, Pinback, Rob Dickinson (Catherine Wheel), The Pernice Brothers, The Church, Grant Lee Phillips, The Wrens and many more. Voted "Best New Act" in the Boston Phoenix, the band has performed live on Seattle based station KEXP and their songs have been placed in various TV Shows on MTV and other networks.
The Douglas Fir's new album "California Memory" will be released on Dark Years Records in Sept 2016. The 12 song record was mixed in Los Angeles by Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Pete Yorn, Sunny Day Real Estate, Ben Lee) and will be available on 180 gram vinyl, compact disc, and digital downloads.
